Winter Storms

Like most winters we go through a number of freeze thaw cycles, this February we have seen some of the most extreme fluctuations I can remember. We have already had temperatures in the single digits and in the 50s, along with the temps we have seen snow, rain and freezing rain.  The freezing rain has been the most devastating as you can see from the attached pictures.  We have lost a lot of limbs, sticks and a few trees along the way. It looks like we will have a few extra long weeks ahead of us as we prepare to open the course for play.

  1. I think the blog format is a great idea! Between the photos and the comments that you have posted, it is a great way to keep the members informed and involved with your difficult job. When I was Green Chairman, I tried to do this at every meeting with photos that I took on a regular basis of problem areas, progress of projects, and controversial issues on the golf course. This is a great way to accomplish the same sort of thing without having everyone at the same meeting. It will also help members understand the problems you face on a daily basis. Especially with the problems presented by extreme weather.
